Makura Recreations 2026, a today retreat last 17th and 18th of January 2026 turned out to be a perfect start of the year 2026 for our amazing group of colleagues. Makura Recreations 2026 proved to be more than an escape from chaos of deadlines, deployment, cross functional meetings and report deliveries for the entire team. What kicked off as a plan for Sunday dry picnic discussion in a lunch break sunbasking session converted into a 2 day retreat at the lavish hill carved Kotbari Hotel.

Planning something memorable is more than an idea, it’s a ROI based incentive to break the ice and connect people across departments while bringing about calm to the minds of every colleague in the office. Hence, a word of thanks to the Organizing Committee, “The OC” that’s been famous for the last few days after the event.
The day began with a not so funny but peaceful drama of “Pranjal”, The “kale dai” Upreti and “Next level” Basanta Khanal . They were out making rounds of calls starting from 9:30 AM on a chilly Saturday Morning. A word of shout out to the Popular King Pin Arjun Basnet for donating all his cell phone balance to make 28 calls. The first to receive the call to arrive early while the bus driver was nowhere to be found was me. I, Nikesh, your guide for this blog, packed his bag quickly and left the cell phone charger at home after the call from the team.
The series of calls was conducted to the entire team but Developer Sandip Ji, would not pick up anybody’s call to arrive at the last of us all. As soon as he arrived our shuttle bus moved to rolling green hills of Dupcheswor Temple Hiking Trail at 11:30 am.
The enthusiastic team batting and bowling in the office corridor was all tired from a 4 hour long bus drive. The energy felt like it had dissipated into oblivion until the beach ball meant for Hot Potato game found hands of the boys group. Raaz, the secret boy and Suman destroyed the ball 15 minutes into the game leaving OC without equipment to organise the starting event of the day.

After everybody settled into their rooms, the Retreat officially started with Everybody’s Elder Brother, “Hamro Dai” “Utshab Dai” kicked off the fun and games session for the first day with his speech. I made a surprise entry clad in a female attire “ A YELLOW SAREE”, borrowed by SAKAR – the OC head for this year’s retreat. After a dumb yet funny dance skit with the SEO team, I went about organising the Hot Potato game.

The game was a perfect ice breaker and bonding experience with every office department joining in as a one team. Ricky, the tall handsome with dimples, got lucky four times until the final elms. However, it was Influencer Queen of Makura, “MS Ranjana” who handed the Pomelo (भोगटे) to Prazwol for the win. Sad loss for the SEO team but switching the broken ball for pomelo added more fun to the event.

Afterwards, we went for a quick snack session at 6 to resume with Influencer queen’s signing for a second shot of popularity at the event. The hall was echoing here beautiful tunes with Mr. Popular Arjun and OC King Sakar hosted a round of the acting game Funtush. Ambiverts, introverts and extroverts all took the stage to act out like their colleagues. The energy was blasting off towards the temple hills from the event hall at the hotel as Utshab, “Dancer Bibek” (nobody knew he danced this well before) stood out. Immensely fun was the Impostor game that put two departments, Development team and Digital up against each other. Our Shy Ambivert HR, “Palistha” took center stage to conduct the event with all the teams shouting imposter at each other.

The night continued with a BBQ session on the hill carved cafe upstairs with dancers like Samriddhi, Bibek, Prazwol, Ranjana, Pranish, Sonu keeping the stage alive. Special props to the DJ who put on “Kale Dai” song to keep the vibe alive as soon as Pranjal made the stage. At dark of the night everybody went into their rooms to recharge for a second.

The second day started religiously with the whole team hiking a long set of stairs to the temple of Dupcheswor Mahadev across the river. The drama wouldn’t stop with our sassy queen makura, Ranajana, who made us take the group video 8 times. I mean who does that!!!! The Makura team then went ahead for breakfast to continue with the break the pot session, a fun session where you have to break the pot guided by a team of your lying colleagues.

OC and the amazing Kotbari staff hung the pot like a chandelier on the swing. As the participants blindfolded themselves, they were misdirected by the entire team not to strike the Pot. Despite all the lies, Sonu Yadav, Sanju Sahani, Samridhhi Luitel, and Anita Shah made it to the pot and struck it with a plastic cricket stump. First the pomelo, second the Stump, OC’s please do not make the event any funnier next time.

We rolled back to event halls again for a session of fun and games, the glass pick up game for a total of 5 rounds. Basanta Sir got crowned the cheater by late comer Sandip as our SEO lead cheated to get us Digital team the win in the game. The events then continued to improve our bonds as a short prize session was handed to winners. Afterwards, some went for clicks around the river while others grabbed a plate of Lunch to enjoy the winter sun.
