From 1 Ranking Keyword to a 625% Traffic Surge: The 360 Education Growth Story

360 Education approached Makura Creations in 2024 to upgrade their outdated website into a modern, student-focused, and lead-generating platform. While the consultancy had a strong offline reputation, their digital presence lacked clarity, engagement, and conversion strength.

Starting Point

In 2024, 360 Education came to Makura Creations with a strong offline reputation built over years of helping Nepali students study abroad — but a website that didn’t reflect any of it.

The challenges were structural, not cosmetic:

  • No organic search visibility. Google’s own index shows the domain ranking for exactly one keyword in November 2024 — the site was essentially invisible outside of people typing the brand name directly.
  • A dated, non-mobile-optimized design, in a market where the overwhelming majority of prospective students research consultancies from a phone.
  • No content architecture built around actual student search behavior — nothing addressing the practical questions students ask before choosing a consultancy (NOC procedures, IELTS/PTE prep, transcript requirements, letters of recommendation, destination-specific guidance).
  • No local search presence to speak of, despite 360 Education operating across multiple branches in the Kathmandu Valley and beyond.

This wasn’t a “tweak the SEO” project. It needed a rebuild.

The approach

Makura treated this as a full-stack project spanning design, development, and search strategy:

Website design & development

  • Complete UI/UX redesign with a mobile-first approach, since the vast majority of student research happens on mobile devices
  • A scalable frontend and backend built to support ongoing content growth rather than a static brochure site
  • Cleaned-up navigation and page architecture so both users and search engines could find the right information quickly

Content strategy

  • Built out dedicated pages around the real questions students search before studying abroad: NOC application steps, transcript and NEB documentation, IELTS/PTE test preparation, letter of recommendation (LOR) guidance
  • Destination-specific pages for Australia, the USA, and Dubai — the markets 360 Education places the most students into
  • University assessment-level content addressing a specific, high-intent search pattern unique to the Australian visa pathway

Technical & on-page SEO

  • Fixed foundational technical issues that were suppressing crawlability and indexing
  • Ongoing resolution of on-page issues as they surfaced, including a robots.txt misconfiguration tied to a security incident that had briefly blocked legitimate search crawlers alongside the traffic it was meant to stop

Local SEO

  • Built out Google Business Profile presence from essentially nothing, positioning the consultancy in local map results for students searching nearby

The keyword growth story

The clearest, most measurable outcome of this work is organic keyword growth, tracked monthly:

  • November 2024: 1 keyword ranking in Google’s top 100 results
  • November 2025: 39 keywords
  • January 2026 (early peak): 60 keywords
  • June 2026 (current): 72 keywords

That’s a climb from near-zero visibility to ranking for dozens of terms tied directly to what students search for — NOC, transcript, IELTS, LOR, university assessment levels, and destination-specific queries — each one a potential entry point for a new student inquiry.

The traffic results

 

Organic keyword growth is only meaningful if it converts into real visitors, and the client’s own Google Analytics confirms it did.

  • First half of 2025: roughly 3,100 active users
  • Second half of 2025: roughly 23,000 active users
  • Growth: 625% within a single calendar year

This wasn’t a single spike — it reflects the compounding effect of the redesigned site and new content clusters gradually earning trust and rankings in Google over consecutive months, rather than a one-off traffic event.

Real search visibility, verified in Search Console

Beyond analytics and rank-tracking tools, the client’s own Google Search Console data confirms the scale of real search visibility:

  • Over 297,000 search impressions across a recent six-month window
  • More than 4,000 real clicks to the site from students actively searching for study-abroad and consultancy guidance
  • Monthly impressions ranged from roughly 37,533 to 76,470 — meaning the site now appears in front of tens of thousands of prospective students every single month

Worth noting honestly: visibility dipped mid-cycle following a site security incident, which temporarily affected crawler access. The issue was diagnosed and resolved quickly, and monthly impressions recovered to the tens of thousands within weeks — evidence that the SEO foundation built here is resilient enough to absorb a disruption and keep performing, not something that collapses when one thing goes wrong.

Local search, built from zero

Local search was one of the more overlooked opportunities in the original site, and it’s now one of the clearest wins:

  • 6,458 total Google Business Profile views
  • 56% of those views coming through Google Maps on mobile — exactly where a student standing outside a consultancy’s competitor, or searching “education consultancy near me,” would find 360 Education instead

This is a channel that produced essentially nothing before the project began and now functions as a consistent source of local discovery.

Where the opportunity goes next

The foundation built over the past 20 months puts 360 Education in a strong position for the next phase of growth — not starting from zero, but optimizing content that already exists and already ranks close to page one:

  • “noc” — one of the single highest-volume search terms in this space nationally, at 40,500 monthly searches, with the site’s dedicated NOC page already indexed and ranking
  • Several destination and university-assessment pages ranking on page two to four, within realistic striking distance of the first page
  • Overlapping content between similar Australia-focused pages, which — once consolidated — should concentrate ranking strength rather than splitting it across competing URLs
  • A backlink and authority-building phase to diversify how the site earns trust with Google, reducing dependence on brand-name searches alone

The next chapter of this project is about converting existing visibility into enrolled students, not building visibility from scratch.
