Hello, this is Sudip Karki, a 27-year-old UI/UX designer who crafts impactful designs. Today marks my completion of two amazing years here at Makura Creations, filled with growth and learning about how to handle projects that make much-needed differences. As I celebrate this special moment in my life, let me take you through the journey thus far: experiences, lessons learned, and what makes this design world so fascinating to me.
A designer by heart, memes were a great way to get people laughing, and Photoshopping was something I did in my free time. Little did I know that it would grow into a career path for me later on. It finally came together during my BSc. CSIT internship in my 8th semester when I stumbled upon magic in UI/UX design. This area merged creativity with problem-solving, unlocking a passion that I’ve pursued ever since.
At Makura Creations, I’ve honed my skills using a blend of industry-standard tools:
1. Figma for prototyping and design.
2. Microsoft Clarity to understand user behavior and improve usability.
3. Adobe Photoshop for crafting stunning visuals.
These tools have been essential in transforming concepts into user-friendly, engaging designs.
Over the past 24 months, I’ve been part of 62 projects, spanning 88 websites and 8 applications, including:
Each of them was peculiar in a way that urged me to think of something new and present an effective solution.
No growth comes without challenges. Here is what shaped me the most:
Design is more than aesthetics; it’s about the results. Here’s what we pulled off:
As a product designer and leading the UI/UX department, my role has evolved from ‘just a designer’ to mentoring team members, building teamwork, and solving real-world problems.
Currently, I work as a Product Designer leading the UI/UX department at Makura Creations. I go deep in creating designs that solve real-world problems and cultivate a team-oriented and innovative environment within the team. Success now is not just about how great designs I come up with but how I also get to mentor others and contribute toward the company at large.
In the last two years, change came so fast: lots of learning, challenges, and achievements. Excited to see what is still in the way and curious enough to keep pushing the limits in design. For anyone starting in UI/UX, most journeys can be well initiated with curiosity in understanding things. That was how I found myself getting interested in design, and the journey brought me eventually to a place like Makura Creations.
So far, it has been nothing short of a transformation. To anyone wishing to enter UI/UX design, do it with curiosity and let learning be enjoyable; with hard work, the options are limitless.
Here’s to many more innovative years ahead, and making a difference at Makura Creations!
